Las Vegas – The Rio and Treasure Island Crowd

We’re at the Rio in Las Vegas here to see the “Show in the Sky”. We took the free shuttle from the Harrah’s casino and arrived just in time. The show takes place on a stage in the casino as well as in the sky where floats pass by with dancers throwing beads like at Mardi Gra.

There are plenty of good vantage points. There are escalators and stairs to go up to the shops that are just above the slot machine area. You can see the show from any of those balconies just fine.

Stores up top on the right, slot machines below.

Here you can see the stage bottom left and the float tracks on the ceiling.

Another good spot is down where the slot machines are or near the stage if you want a close up look at the show.

Here’s a poster for the “Show in the Sky” near the entrance to the Casino. This is where the shuttle dropped us off.
If you want to get anywhere you have to ask for directions from someone that works there otherwise the signs will probably never lead you to the right place :P So don’t be shy, everyone’s really friendly.

Check the times, it’s only ever 60 minutes during certain hours. Great show. We taped the whole thing in HD and hope to put it on our youtube once we buy/get a new editing system.

Leaving the Rio after the show. The shuttles we rode all had black metal screens with tiny holes so you couldn’t really see out of it and a flat screen monitor continually showing advertisements for casinos and shows.

Back at the Harrahs.

Inside the Harrahs is a sculpture of a couple that just won big in vegas.

Then we went on to catch another showing the Sirens of TI at the Treasure Island to get more footage. It’s a free show.

The crowd was really big this time. All standing room since there are no seats since the show is outdoors next to the sidewalk. It took about 15 minutes or more for the crowd to disperse after the show since it was just so crowded.
