Ceasars Palace – 7 1/2inch Venus de Milo

Today we’re reviewing the Ceasars Palace 7 1/2 inch ‘Venus de Milo’ statuette :P
Full review after the jump.

Today we received a big box.

Inside extremely well protected was a white box with Ceasars Palace logo.

Inside was styrofoam protecting the mini statuette.

Aha! there she is in all her glory. The 7 1/2 inch Ceasars Palace Venus de Milo replica. Made of a resin of some sort. Outside it feels like plastic but it’s heavy and feels solid but also a little fragile. Not as fragile as something ceramic but not as resistant to falls as something made of plastic. So our guess is it’s resin. According to BobbleDobbles.com their figures are made of “unique cold-cast ceramic”.

She has a lot of detail. At first we thought having “Ceasars Palace” on the base would look tacky but in real life it’s almost unnoticeable and actually a nice touch.

Here she is outside.

Next to a 6 foot statue.

Lara checking out the goods.
(she’s here thanks to a HalcyonBlue.com sponsored review btw)

checking for hidden compartments.
..no such luck.

Taking a souvenir photo.

A look at the base. The crack details are a nice touch and add realism.
They sell similar statues on Amazon that lack the crack details and are much bigger. This mini Venus is a little bigger than an action figure so it’s easy to find a spot to display her.

She’s not that well endowed but this is a replica of the statue so she’s supposed to look boyish and a bit masculine, like the original.

The statue is cream colored but blends in well with white decorative items without looking out of place.

Add a bikini top and you’ve changed a once timeless statue into something we’ll make fun of for being out of style in the next 15 years :P haha

This is why some photographers, artists and sculptors prefer making works of art with nude models. Their work won’t go out of style that fast that way since the human body is pretty timeless. Hairstyles change though.

The top looks pretty decent for 10 minutes of work. It’s a micro bikini top two sizes too small to get that Australian cleavage (reverse cleavage) effect ;D
From the cracks under her bosoms it looks like she’s had work done XD
Her boobs are a little lumpy, not completely round and smooth as you can see from the reflection dimples.

Lara found the hooker card with the pose that most closely resembles that of mini the Venus de Milo.

An interesting thought is that some people complain over seeing nude model pictures or videos but those same people don’t raise an eyebrow when they see nude sculptures and nude paintings in a museum setting. They take their kids there. More people should appreciate beauty everywhere without restricting themselves to works made at least one century back.

Anyway this is a really accurate and fun mini statuette. Certainly worth getting for the office. We plan on making her a little mustache and a hat for every occasion. She’s earned a place on our shelf.
Should she continue to wear the bikini top or should she get naked?
